This year, the Paramount’s Education/Outreach Department is piloting a school residency literacy program one Title I school. For this program: |

Three teaching artists will work in a classroom to facilitate 90 minute sessions over the course of eight weeks -
The teaching artists will use writing and drama games to get students excited about writing -
Each session will end with individual writing time, when the students can express themselves in their personal journals -
After the eight workshop sessions, the facilitators will collect the journals of all the students, and bring them to an ensemble of professional actors |

The teaching artists and actors will adapt selected stories into a show that they will perform as a full production for the entire school. The students will see their writing brought to life through a production of professional quality -
The cost of the program is $2,000 per classroom. Our goal is to have it in 10 classrooms by the 2009/2010 school year |
