Youth Outreach
In keeping with the historic Paramount and State Theatres’ mission of making theatre accessible to the widest possible audience, I invite you to make a donation in support of our youth outreach program.
Our youth outreach program engages children throughout Central Texas and challenges them to see theatre as not only entertaining, but also as educational.
By bridging the gap between the educational community (which has deemphasized the arts in an era of high stakes testing) and the theatre community (which can provide a unique approach to teaching literacy, Texas State academic standards, and engaging diverse learning styles), we can approach child development holistically and produce students that are more self-confident, empathetic, creative, and well-rounded.
With the support of patrons like you, we have developed six key programs that will best utilize the resources of the Theatres in support of a child’s cultural and curricular education.
These programs are: |

School Matinee Performances: Nine-thousand children (80% from at-risk / Title I schools) will be attending our matinee performances scheduled specifically for class room attendance and includes study guides tailored to State tests. Preshow workshops conducted in classrooms further connect the play to what children are learning in school.
