Festival FAQ

When/how will I receive my badge(s)?
Badge pick up will be located in the Paramount Theatre Lobby at 713 Congress Avenue the week of the fest.

Are badges refundable?
All sales are final. There are no refunds on badges for any reason. 

Can I upgrade my badge?
Email info@austintheatre.org for inquiries regarding upgrading your badge. As long as the other levels are not sold out, we should be able to accommodate. 

Where do I park?
All badge holders can park free of charge in the One American Center located at 600 Congress Ave. Entrance to the garage is on 7th street to the right directly before Congress Ave. The garage opens each day of the fest at 6PM.

I'm an ACE badge holder. When/how do I choose my 4 headliner shows?
You will receive  a "Choose Your 4 Headliners" e-mail and form closer to the fest. Your chosen headliner tickets will be with your badges at pick-up. If you have any questions about this process, please contact info@austintheatre.org.

What about age restrictions? Can underage patrons get into shows?
There is no age restriction on the festival as a whole and minors can purchase badges or single tickets to the Paramount shows. However, some of our Moontower venues are 18+ and, due to their liquor licensing/permit, are not able to let in underage patrons regardless of the event.

The following venues are all ages: Paramount, Stateside at the Paramount, Parish Underground, The Hideout, New York new York and New Movement, Google Fiber Stage

These venues are 18+ only: The Parish, Cap City, The Speakeasy and The Velv Comedy Lounge. 

I have a FAN badge. How does that work for the bigger headliner shows?
Good news! This year, all badge-holders (at any level) have access into the opening night show, Ron White's Texas Toasted with Margo Rey. There will be lines outside the venue for each type of badge. The FAN badge gets entry after VIP/ACE badges and single ticket holders to Paramount and Cap City headliners. FAN and ACE badge holders will be in the same line at non-Paramount/Cap City shows, receiving entry after VIP badge holders.

While we will hold seats for all badge holders at Paramount and Cap City shows, the FAN badge section will fill up fast and access to these shows is not guaranteed. If there is a headliner show that is a must-see, we do suggest purchasing single tickets to that show. 

Will I be able to purchase single tickets to any of the non-headliner shows?
A VERY limited amount of advance single tickets are on sale now.

What time do doors open for performances?
If you're attending the first show of the night at the Paramount or Stateside Theatres, doors will open one hour before showtime. We recommend getting there early for the best seat and enjoying a drink. After that, typically doors will open 30 minutes prior to showtime. Other venues will open doors 30 minutes prior to showtime for all shows. These are rules of thumb only and actual times may vary by venue depending on size.

If I want to see the next show at the same venue, can I just stay in my seat?
We will be clearing venues completely between shows so we can clean up and prepare for the next round of fans. 

Are there preferred hotels offering preferred rates to festers?
Unfortunately we do not have any discounted rates – this is actually due to an overall hotel room shortage happening in Austin, pretty much across the board throughout the year.  We did make an effort to secure a rate (always wanting to do right by our festers), but were not able to do so. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Where do I submit materials to be considered as a performer at the festival?
Thank for your interest in Moontower! Unfortunately we do not take unsolicited requests for submissions. Our booking staff works diligently throughout the year and scours the comedy earth to find Moontower artists. Perhaps one day the Moontower light will shine on you!
