Program Description:

• 3 teaching artists work in a classroom to facilitate 90 minute sessions over the course of eight weeks
• Use of writing & drama games get students excited about writing
• Each session ends with individual writing time
• After the eight workshop sessions, the facilitators collect the journals of all the students, and bring them to an ensemble of professional actors
• The teaching artists and actors adapt selected stories into a show that they perform as a full production for the entire school
• The program costs over $2,500 and the Paramount Theatre offers it to a low income Austin school for free each semester
