STREET PARKING Parking Meters - Throughout downtown Austin (I-35 to Lamar Blvd., Lady Bird Lake to 10th St.), parking meters are free after 6:00pm Monday through Wednesday, after 12:00am (midnight) Thursday through Saturday, all day Sunday and on some holidays. Outside of downtown (north of 10th St.), parking meter hours are 8am-6pm Monday through Saturday and free on Sunday. Parking Meter Time Limits- During the day, the time limits for these spaces vary. Common maximum parking time limits are no more than 3 hours. Each meter is labeled with its maximum parking time limit as well as the hours and days that parking meter time limits are in effect. Parking Meter Fees - Unless otherwise posted, you must feed your meter (without exceeding the maximum time limit) Monday through Wednesday from 8:00am until 6:00pm, Thursday through Friday from 8:00am until midnight, and Saturday from 11:00am until midnight. Most parking meters in downtown Austin accept credit cards and all meters accept nickels, dimes and quarters.
