THE STORY OF LUKE is a comedy about a young man with autism who embarks on a quest for a job and a girlfriend. It stars Lou Taylor Pucci, Seth Green, Cary Elwes and Kristin Bauer. Written and directed by Alonso Mayo, it’s based on his experiences at Centro Ann Sullivan del Perú, as seen in his research documentary JUST LIKE ANYONE. The film won Best Film at Irvine International Film Festival & San Diego Film Festival, and Audience Awards at Fort Lauderdale Film Festival & Bahamas International Film Festival.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Autism Speaks, Autism Society of Greater Austin, and Imagine A Way.

Autism Speaks’ mission is to change the future for anyone who is struggling with an autism spectrum disorder – and that includes moms, dads, siblings, service providers and the whole community!  While their primary focus is funding science and research grants into the causes, treatments and even a cure for autism, they also promote awareness, family services and legislative advocacy for spectrum families.

The Autism Society of Greater Austin is an affiliate of the oldest, grassroots autism organization in the United States.  Its mission is to "improve the lives of all affected by autism" through activities in five core program areas:  advocacy, awareness, education, information and referral, and support.  Here in Central Texas, our top priority is helping families navigate life with autism from diagnosis through adulthood.

Imagine A Way is an Austin based 501(c)(3) non-profit founded on a simple yet powerful principle that every child should have the chance to reach their full potential. We provide financial support for therapy and also help deliver a network of resources to help families with children diagnosed with Autism. Our focus is on children in the critical early childhood years of 2 to 6, when the window of opportunity exists to have the greatest impact on their lives.
