There will be live music during the run by Brooklyn Lane and post event show in the Paramount Theatre with the White Ghost Shivers, food, drinks, goodie bags for each participant, prizes for race winners, prize give-a-ways (must be present to win), and much more! This event is great fun for the whole family!

There is a 15-minute zone in front of the Paramount where you can park while you register or get your packet and t-shirt on Friday. The State Theatre is located at 719 Congress Ave, next to the Paramount.

CHIP TIMING
You will be able to pick up your chip timer on Saturday, September 6 beginning at 7 am. Finish times will be posted immediately following the event.
PARKING
You can park at any meter spot for free on the weekends. If you can not find street parking, you may park in the One American Center garage (on 7th Street, West of Congress) for free thanks to the generosity of our season sponsor, Thomas Properties, Inc.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The third annual Arts Run, one of Austin's most unique races supporting the Paramount & State Theatres, will take place on Saturday, September 6th, 2008. The Arts Run begins and ends at the Paramount Theatre on Congress Avenue and consists of two races - a Kids K and an adult 5K Fun Run/Walk. Kids K start time is at 8:30 am. 5K Run/Walk start time is at 8:45 am for timed runners, and 8:50 am for fun runners.
COURSE
The adult 5K fun run/walk begins in front of the Paramount Theatre, head south on Congress to Caesar Chavez, West on Caesar Chavez, right before the Mopac bridge turn around and head back on the same path. We like to keep it simple, but challenging.
PRIZES
All registered participants will receive an Arts Run bag - with a t-shirt and other goodies. Every child who participates will receive a special prize and adults will receive awards for fastest chip times in each ages group, as well as over-all winners. Plus, great door prizes will be awarded to runners who stay for the announcements, with a free concert by White Ghost Shivers.

COSTUME CONTEST, LIVE MUSIC, FOOD & MORE
Runners, walkers, sponsors and volunteers are strongly encouraged to participate dressed as their favorite stage or film star. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. The Country-Rock, family-friendly band, Brooklyn Lane, will get you moving with their upbeat originals and your favorite covers ranging from Joplin and Cash, to Elvis and Aretha. After working up a thirst and an appetite, participants can refuel with healthy beverages from Steaz and Gatti's pizza. Just added: White Ghost Shivers will perform inside the Paramount following the run. Runners are encouraged to stay for the free, family-friendly performance.
PETS
We are sorry to say that there are no pets allowed at this event other than working animals for the visually impaired. Sorry to all those dogs out there and maybe we will be able to allow it next year. Thank you.
