PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE A Fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society With Blake Miller - LLS Man of the Year Candidate
Tuesday, April 9th Doors @ 6:00pm | Film @ 7:00pm The Paramount Theatre
If eccentric man-child Pee-Wee Herman's quest to find his shiny, red trophy bike has taught us anything, it's that you don't get by without a little help from your friends or the kind, zany strangers you meet along the way...and maybe a bike gang or two. That's why we're calling on all of Austin's BEST weirdos to help Blake Miller, Candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year, find something a little bigger than a bike -- a cure and improved quality of life for those suffering from blood cancer.
Having personally been touched by the disease (read Blake's story here), our friend is on a commendable and massive quest to raise $100,000 to further the important research that will help bring cancer to an end. Let's help him on his way and celebrate his cause in true, BIG ADVENTURE cult film geek style: mingle with Large Marge, Simone, and more in the lobby; let Madam Ruby reveal your fortune; get your picture taken in front of The Alamo; bask in 80s nostalgia, win door prizes and more!
If you're a loner or rebel and can't make the show, but still want to donate to Blake's cause, DONATE HERE.

About the Film
Starring Paul Rubens, Elizabeth Daily, and Mark Holton. Directed by Tim Burton. Written by Phil Hartman & Paul Reubens & Michael Varhol.
Your favorite television pal, Pee Wee Herman, is taking over the Paramount in his first silver screen adventure, and it’s a big one.
Call in the FBI. Alert the President. Advise all ships at sea and break out the Batphone because this is no ordinary adventure: this is Pee-Wee's Big Adventure! Pee-Wee's bicycle, the keenest bike in the world, is missing. It's his most prized possession...and he's just got to get it back. Searching high, low and in between, Pee-Wee hits the open road and encounters riotous adventures with bikers, bums, cowboys, cons, a phantom trucker and a waitress with wanderlust and even Warner Bros. Studios.
Not only did this film immortalize Pee Wee Herman in celluloid for future generations, but it also introduced us to the boundless imagination of director Tim Burton. Before this film, Burton has worked mostly as an animator at Disney and some other studios. After Big Adventure, Burton would go on to direct the triple whammy of Beetlejuice, Batman, and Edward Scissorhands, which would prove to be only the beginning of a long and successful career. Thanks Pee Wee!
