The House Jacks is “the original rock band without instruments” (SF Chronicle). Now in their 21st year together as a band, their pioneering innovations in vocal performance laid the groundwork for the current a cappella renaissance. From Carnegie Hall to the World Expo, from Brazil to Sri Lanka, Rolling Stone to CNN, The Sing-Off (NBC) to Monday Night Football (ESPN), from Sony to Ford to Verizon, and in live performance with Ray Charles, James Brown, Train, and LL Cool J, The House Jacks continue to electrify audiences worldwide.
Bringing a local flavor to their global presentations, the current lineup features Austin’s own vocal stuntman and ten-time Austin Music Award-Winner, John Pointer. Known as a solo artist, founder of groups as diverse as Schrödinger’s Cat, BoomBox and Trio Los Vigilantes, and lead actor in ZACH Theatre’s Jesus Christ Superstar/Jesucristo Superestrella and RENT, he has been called, “A complete star” and “Austin’s answer to Bobby McFerrin” (Austin Chronicle). This concert will be presented by the Live Music Capital Foundation, enriching life through improving concert experiences for audiences and artists alike in Austin.
