After bringing creative writing residencies to AISD 3rd grade students with the Literacy to Life program and working with fabulously talented young artists to create new, thrilling, hilarious, weird, poignant, you-name-it stories, the Paramount Theatre’s Story Wranglers are stepping out of the classrooms and school cafetoriums to share the work of this amazing program with all of Austin.
It’s a musical-SNL-like professional production, where our actors and musicians bring the young students/artists’ stories to life on the historic Paramount stage! You must experience it first-hand! You will laugh and cry when you meet the characters and creativity of 3rd grade students from all around Austin.
Works are pulled from student journals who have participated in the Paramount Academy for the Arts Literacy to Life Program since 2008. Participating schools over the past 4 years are: Hart, Brentwood, Reilly, Blacksheer, Highland Park, Allison, St. Elmo, Matthews, Galindo, and Allan Elementary Schools.
