Jermaine Fowler Headlines Cap City
Raised in Hyattsville, Maryland, Jermaine began performing stand-up in 2006 while still in high school. On his 20th birthday he moved to New York City on a Megabus with three pieces of luggage and a dream. He started his comedy career working in promos for brands such as McDonalds and Sports Illustrated and quickly worked his way to the main-stage at festivals such as the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Fest in 2012, where he was named one of the “New Faces.” He’s toured nationally with College Humor, and Comedy Central on Campus, and is one-half of the internet sketch group, BodegaCat Sanchez, alongside Kevin Barnett. He’s performed on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and The Late Late Show with James Corden and previously co-created, wrote, and starred in the TruTV sketch series, “Friends of The People.” In 2016 Fowler financed, wrote and produced his own comedy special, ‘GIVE ‘EM HELL KID,’ which was released by SHOWTIME.
Fowler currently stars in the highly anticipated multi-camera sitcom, “Superior Donuts,” alongside Katey Sagal and Judd Hirsch. Jermaine is a true multi-faceted talent and works in the writers room as well as behind the camera as a producer for CBS. Glen Geller calls him “a rising young star.” This February Fowler will also star in Judd Apatow’s HBO comedy, “Crashing.”
Last fall, Jermaine was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch,” joining the ranks of alumni such as Jenny Slate, Aziz Ansari, and Louis C.K.
